Why become a part of the SMS Central team?
Our office is pretty casual place to be. We work hard, don’t get me wrong – but we do it in jeans and thongs. We’re in the back streets of Richmond, just around the corner from some pretty cool cafes where you’ll find much of the team waiting for the best coffee in town or having a caffeine-fuelled team meeting.
We’re actually geekishly dedicated to providing the most innovative and reliable SMS and MMS communication for Australian businesses. This means we need to work hard to stay on the edge. But we love it!
What’s important?
The things that are important differ for all of us, and that is no different for all of our team members at SMS Central. What this means is that we sometimes have to think creatively to make sure everyone in the team has their unique needs met so they can do what they love to do, the way they need to do it.
Whether it’s one of our developers who wanted to get a better understanding of financial principals or one of our customer care team who is now addicted to sales, we make sure that our team members get the opportunity to also focus on their personal and career goals as well as the goals of the business.
Extra training?
Yup – it’s how we stay in the lead! Everyone’s encouraged to polish their skills and knowledge whenever they can. Whether that’s through a new book on the latest development frameworks, a SCRUM master certification, customer relationship training or even time management coaching, we do what we can to keep our team on top of their game.
Our DNA
Our business DNA runs deep, and is lead by our CEO who passionately believes that as a team we are accountable to two groups of people only: our customers, and our team. Not the company shareholders or even our executive team. So we’re a pretty tight knit crew who run our own show.

We follow through on promises
- If we say we will get back to you, we will. It’s an assurance we give to our customers so they can relax, knowing we’re taking care of things. It’s also how we are able to keep up with each other in the office!
- We’re dedicated to making sure that every member of the team has what they need to love the job they do. If that means extra training, we’ll work through it; resources, we’ll get hold of them. It’s our job to equip them and stand back.
Transparency
There’s no fine print
- All of our documentation and terms provide just what they say they will. Nothing is hidden or written in legal speak, so we can all understand it.
- Our goals, values and business performance are available to the whole team to view at any time.
- Our managers’ doors are always open. Well, we don’t do doors. But if we did, they’d be open.
Simplicity
Everything we do is made as simple as possible. Why complicate things?
- We don’t use industry jargon or technical speak when we communicate with our customers.
- There are no complicated forms or codes needed to use our products.
- Our internal processes are simple and easy to follow and our documents are created to make everyone’s lives easier.
We take a lot of pride in our team. We know that a great team is the most important aspect of a great company. Each member of our team is handpicked because they share our values and desire to make mobile communication in this country as simple and easy as it can get.
So we’re exceptionally fussy when it comes to new team members, and to continually fill our business with the best people we must be prepared to take on the best people when they are available, not just when we are looking.
